Make-A-Wish Northeast New Work has announced a raffle to win a CaptainAmerica shield signed by Marvel stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan and Wyatt Russell, with all proceeds going towards 'help[ing] create hope for wish kids.'
A uniquely designed Captain America shield — featuring the signatures of Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and Wyatt Russell — is part of a raffle benefiting the Northeast New York chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All four actors have wielded the iconic symbol throughout the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Evans played the original Captain America, Steve Rogers, while Mackie's Sam Wilson later took up the mantle following the events of Avengers: Endgame.
The Captain America saga is expected to continue with a Captain America 4 film, which is currently in development at Marvel Studios. There aren't many details about the new project available at the moment, aside from Mackie reprising his role and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier writers Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson penning the script. Marvel has also yet to confirm the Captain American 4 release date, specific plot elements, or other cast members.
Playing a Marvel character is certainly a role one signs onto for a lifetime. While Evans for the most part has hung up the shield in the MCU for good, he'll forever be known as Steve Rogers to most fans. However, Mackie and Russell's legacies in their respective roles are just beginning, and Stan, despite having never assumed the role of Captain America himself, will always be an integral player in the iconic hero's overall arc.
Beyond the autographs and the charitable cause the Cap shield is going toward, the item itself is impressive on its own. The design is a creative tribute to not just Captain America, but to the supporting characters who have helped to shape his storyline. One thing is for sure, whoever wins the Captain America shield on March 26 will have quite the enviable item to add to their collection.
