In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, cruise lines that visit the Bahamas are pledging millions of dollars to aid with cleanup and relief efforts.
The two islands have a combined population of around 70,000 who did what they could to prepare for the Category 5 superstorm, but it’s impossible to truly prepare for a storm the size of Dorian. Now, as we wait to find out how catastrophic this was, companies are already stepping up and promising to help with cleanup and relief efforts, which are sure to be sorely needed in the coming weeks and months.
Carnival Cruise Lines has also promised to help, but hasn’t specified an amount that it will pledge to Dorian relief. “We hope our $1 million donation will provide much-needed relief and help our neighbors, colleagues, and all those impacted by this devastating storm begin the long process of recovery as they work to put their lives and communities back together,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement.
