Work will take place over the next 3 weeks
Residents and commuters are being warned of potential disruption as tree works are to be carried out on three major traffic routes in Nottingham over the next three weeks. Nottingham City Council has warned that between February 20 and March 10, there will be tree works taking place on Lenton Boulevard, Castle Boulevard and Derby Road.
These essential works are needed to ensure that the health and safety of the trees is maintained, whilst also minimising the risk of tree‐related damage. The work will help to maintain healthy tree structures, ensure clearances for road traffic and pedestrians and maintain clearances from properties, street lighting and road signage.
Some bus services using Derby Road will be affected, however, the details of diversions and any bus stop changes will be available from bus operators. Councillor Audra Wynter, Portfolio Holder for Highways, Transport and Parks, said: “These works to cut back some of the larger and stronger growing trees in the area are vital to the health of the trees and to the safety of road users, pedestrians and residents.
