The home of Birmingham’s beloved Magic City Grille may have a new owner, but what the future of the restaurant may be is, at the moment, unclear.
, at 2201 to 2205 Third Avenue North, for an undisclosed amount, as part of a move into the Alabama real estate market.
The property, which includes The Magic City Grille, was built in 1923 and has about 10,000 square feet of space. The popular restaurant serves a steamy blend of Southern café dishes. The property, along with a building and two parking lots off First Avenue North, were acquired in partnership with GBX Group, a Cleveland, Ohio-based historic preservation real estate firm.
Casey Howard with Harbert Realty was the real estate broker of record and will handle leasing for the properties.When reached Thursday morning, Magic City Grille co-owner Josephine White said the new owners haven’t contacted them yet, and they intend to keep operating.If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
