Madison Reed, in an aggressive geographic expansion, is planning to open some 600 new locations in the next four years.Hair-color startup Madison Reed is plotting an aggressive brick-and-mortar expansion, with plans to open hundreds of new stores in coming years, in a play to extend its reach among the millions of women who dye their hair.
Madison Reed first began dabbling with physical stores in 2016, when it opened a pop-up location in New York. It now has nine permanent locations in New York, San Francisco and Dallas-Fort Worth, with plans to open an additional three before the end of the year. “This was to validate that we could start to address that market that was salon-goers,” says Errett.
“When somebody talks about something that’s in someone's bloodstream as a founder, this is pretty close,” says Errett, who named the company after her daughter.
