With nearly six decades between the 2020 remake and the original, one question undoubtedly comes to mind: Will Spielberg’s new version make major changes from the classic movie musical? According to Maddie, musical lovers who adore the original will be just as satisfied.. “We really wanted to bring that back to life. We didn't want to make it too modern…. The costumes, the hair and makeup, are all very from that era.
Of course, with an all-star cast including Broadway icons Rita Moreno, Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Brian d'Arcy James, Josh Andrés Rivera, and Mike Faist, there’s bound to be a slew of fresh energy stirred into the mix. Maddie seemed to agree, saying that the film adds “flair from the new cast,” adding: “I learned so much from all the dancers and the actors. Everyone is brilliant.”
Sadly, we have to wait another 12 months before we see Maddie shine on the big screen. In the mean time, you can always re-watch
