Macron and Trump said they shared the 'same objectives' on Iran, but their comments reveal different approaches to tackling the problem

The French president's rhetoric on maintaining regional peace was also in stark contrast to recent statements from Trump. Nevertheless, France continues to try to"open the dialogue" between the U.S. and Iran, the Elysée official said.
It wasn't the first such reference to the need to reinforce the post-World War II international order that Trump's policies have placed under severe strain.
