where developers are building custom houses, apartments, a high-end resort hotel, parks, trails and shops.
About half of 83 home sites in the first phase have been sold and the first residents moved in last year, the developers said this week. Construction is underway on another 25 home sites, a community center, pool and private trail system, and developers expect to break ground by the end of this year on a rental community with about 300 apartments, restaurants, pickleball courts and stores.
About 85,000 square feet will be devoted to shops, restaurants and hospitality and parks will be connected by a bike and walking trail system. The average price per square foot to build a home at The Village is from $250 to $350 not including the home site, according to a website for the master-planned community.
