Almost everyone can agree that one of the most stressful parts of going on holiday is airport security. Passengers are expected to remember their luggage weight limit, what can be taken on to the plane, how many liquids they have, all while trying to ferry the family through check-in.
The nine top tips are an addition to the airport's usual do's and don'ts for travel, including weight limits for hand and hold luggage and the 100ml liquids limit. The size of your hand luggage depends on the airline you're using, but all airlines limit the amount of liquids in hand luggage to 100ml per person. You can also take one lighter in your hand luggage, but this must be inside a resealable plastic bag. There is a long list of items that are not allowed in your hold baggage including: Flammable liquids, instruments containing magnets, non-safety matches, and weed killer. The full list can be found here.Essential liquids like creams, lotions and gels can be taken onto the flight, but each container must hold no more than 100ml. These containers should be in a resealable, clear plastic bag which should be taken out of your luggage and in the tray at Security.
