Luke Perry passed away at 52 after a massive stroke raising the question: how young is 'too young' to have a stroke?
. As you can see the risk is lowest among those in the 20 to 39 year old category, but it's not zero: 0.2% of men and 0.7% of women in this age group have suffered strokes. The numbers increase for those in the next higher age category , bumping up to 1.9% and 2.2%, respectively. The numbers pick up even higher for the 60-to-79-year-old category. Finally, among those 80 years or older, stroke prevalence is much higher for both men and women .
