The new Parkhead star says his agent told him of interest from Ibrox.
The Ibrox side were linked with the former Aris winger earlier in the summer transfer window before the speculation fizzled out.
But Palma insists once Celtic came to the table, there was only one place he wanted to go. He arrived in Glasgow earlier this week to put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Premiership champions, replacing fan favourite Jota after his move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. Palma could feature in Sunday's titanic derby showdown in Govan as he joined Liverpool defender Nat Phillips in becoming Celtic's second signing of the week, with Benfica's Paulo Bernardo expected to follow. Palma was unveiled to the media on Thursday evening, and immediately affirmed his commitment to his new club.but when I knew of Celtic’s interest, I was only decided on one team and I wanted to come here.
"It [the derby] is important for me. Like all derbies, you have got to win, that's the most important thing."After his signing was announced on Wednesday, Palma revealed he consulted countryman and former Celtic favourite Emilio Izaguirre for advice on the transfer.Scotland“I spoke to Emilio a couple of days ago. We spoke about the club, and now that I’m here I’d like to do as much or even more that what Emilio did at the club.
"So it’s something that I’m looking to try and do and I’m excited about it. I’m looking forward to meeting my team-mates and being able to be on the training pitch with them. I’m a happy person so I’m just hoping to bring that feeling to the club as well.”
