The Honduran winger has joined Brendan Rodgers side and will look to make an impact on the group stage.
Luis Palma admits he used to dream of being like Emilio Izaguirre playing in the Champions League when he was pushing around his parents’ food cart as a kid in La Ceiba.
“I spoke to Emilio a couple of days ago. We talked about the club and now that I’m here I’d like to do as much or even more than what Emilio did at the club. We had a chat about it and had a good laugh because that’s what every player wants to do – to come in and play in front of a lot of fans. So it’s something that I’m looking to try to do and I’m excited about it.”
“He said in the next few days we are going to chat more about the team. I’m looking forward to meeting my team-mates and being able to be on the training pitch with them. I’m a really happy person so I can now get started with my team-mates and bring a lot of happiness to the club.” “I realised that I was in a league that is well regarded in Europe, where there can be quite a few opportunities for other teams. Thank God I was able to score goals and show what a Honduran player is.”
But lessons were learned and Palma insists there will be no controversy with Celtic. He said: “In the use of social networks maybe I was wrong about some things.
