Residents in a lucky Leeds street have celebrated a big win on the People's Postcode Lottery this week.
Every day, a series of draws declares winners of the People's Postcode Lottery in different areas of the country. The winners range far and wide, with the results of the draw published online on the Postcode Lottery website. This week, there was one winner in Leeds as residents who play and live in LS9 9DJ bagged themselves £1,000. The postcode covers a number of houses in Victoria Avenue, Ivy Road and Back Victoria Avenue in East End Park.Last year, hundreds of neighbours in Moortown scooped an even bigger prize. In a weekend they'll never forget, players in LS17 6 bagged themselves a share of £3.2m in August 2022, with a special event held to celebrate their win on September 3, 2022.
In total, over 400 homes bagged a share of the mammoth amount, meaning residents won between £4,348 and £17,392 depending on how many tickets they bought.People's Postcode Lottery players pay £12 a month with prizes to be won every single day. There are thousands of winners every week and 33 per cent of the ticket price goes to charity, with over £1.1bn donated to charitable causes since 2005.
