Z Peep Show is an annual contest in which people are invited to create and photograph scenarios using Easter Peeps, says Joe Zeller, owner of the East Dundee marketing firm that has held it for more than two decades.
The winner of the Z Peep Show contest in 2022, held by East Dundee's Zeller Marketing and Design, was"Peeps - The Last Supper."
When the COVID-19 pandemic continued in 2021, Zeller invited the community to send in submissions as well and that transformed it into a virtual competition, according to company owner Joe Zeller. Peeps are either an anticipated or loathed part of the Easter holiday for many, and the debate remains ongoing as to whether they’re best when fresh, soft and chewy or slightly harder after being left to sit for a week or so.
One thing his wife made, known as “Personal Pan Peeps,” looks the same after 20 years, he said, and her more recent creation, “Oscar the Peeps Hounds,” sits in their front window and elicits excited responses from neighborhood dogs.There are some real classics — Deviled Peeps, Emoji Peeps and the Wicked Peep of the West — that are hard to beat. The Hall of Fame can be viewed atZ Peep Show typically gets a couple of hundred entries every year and grows a little bit every year, Zeller said.
