A Lostock Hall pub is set for a £190,000 revamp. The Pleasant Retreat in the heart of the village near Preston has received a huge cash injection from Heineken-owned Star Pubs & Bars, which will transform the landmark building and "broaden its appeal".
The current pub, which is known for its craft and guest ales, is 'dated' and 'tired' and long overdue an upgrade and the brewery giant's investment is set to modernise the interior and exterior, including signage, lighting and cafe-style seating. The abandoned rear courtyard will also undergo a makeover to allow for outside dining, with murals, festoon lighting and old coloured furniture, seating 38 people, with shade and rain cover provided by a giant umbrella.
