Dolphins were flown in from Florida alongside sealions, rare tropical fish and even snakes.
In 1991, the last remaining dolphin, Rocky, was released into the sea in the Caribbean. Marineland had closed the previous year and the site was demolished in 1992.With the demolition of Morecambe's Super Swimming Pool, a leisure park and Bubbles appeared in the lost lido's wake. Bubbles opened in 1991 and was loved by bathers for its fully-heated indoor leisure pool with water slide, an outdoor 'Blue Lagoon' and sun-trap terracing.
