A 50-tonne sperm whale ‘got lost’ and ended up stuck in shallow water for ten days before helpful locals 'nudged' him back out to sea.
A 50-tonne, 45-foot sperm whale ‘got lost’ in 800-metre water near the Scottish Shetland Islands
Sperm whales can usually be found in waters as deep as 800 metres, where they find most of their food. He seemed to be stuck there for around 10 days, during which time he was visited by locals excited to see the 45-foot animal almost every day.‘People were coming from all over Shetland and people from all over the world have been following it on social media.’
