Starting November 4, getting a haircut, manicure, wax, and other beauty services in Los Angeles without a COVID-19 vaccination is going to be kind of tough . On Wednesday, October 6, the Los Angeles City Councilthat requires proof of vaccination for entry into indoor businesses such as restaurants, bars, movie theaters, gyms, museums — and, yes, hair and nail salons.
The law, which goes into effect on November 4, makes exceptions for those who can't get vaccinated due to medical conditions or religious objections. If a customer will not or cannot get vaccinated, they will have to provide a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of their appointment time. Some privately owned businesses already enforce this rule independently.
