The Scots telly star spoke with Dame Deborah's loved ones, five months on from the activist's death
Lorraine Kelly was left in tears on Wednesday morning as she remember the late Deborah James, as the activist's mum appeared on her ITV show.
Lorraine described being in a café on holiday recently and spotting a person at a nearby table who was wearing Deborah’s bowel cancer movement ‘Rebellious Hope’ shirts, saying: “Instantly, you’re friends. We’re in the same gang.” Dr Hilary, who was also in the studio and campaigned with Deborah for the programme’s No Butts campaign, said: “She was beautiful. She was fun. She was ebullient.”
Heather continued: “And I think she taught us how to live while you’re dying. I owe it to Deborah, we all do, to live our life, because we never know how long we’ve got.
