BOISE — Lori Vallow Daybell returns to a Boise, Idaho courtroom Monday as her jury trial resumes after a long weekend.
Daybell is charged with murder, conspiracy and grand theft in the deaths of her two children, JJ Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan. She is also charged in connection with the death of Tammy Daybell, the late wife of her husband Chad Daybell. Chad Daybell is charged in the same three deaths and will face a separate trial.
On Thursday, testimony focused on the final days JJ was seen alive, with testimony from a guest who stayed at Lori Vallow Daybell's home that weekend, a babysitter who was hired to watch JJ regularly but only watched him once, and his school principal. Rexburg Police Sgt. David Stubbs testified about the beginning of the search for JJ, after multiple things Daybell claimed during a welfare check were proven to be false. And when police went back to her Rexburg apartment later that day, everyone was gone. The day ended with a video of the empty apartment, showing only closets without clothes, a full pantry, and a duffle bag full of toiletries left on a bed.
Monday is likely to begin with more videos of two other apartments searched by officers that day, and a review of some business documents as Stubbs finishes his testimony.
