Bosses at Severn Valley Railway have announced that long-standing volunteer and vice chairman Jonathan 'Gus' Dunster will step in as interim managing director.

These measures include changes to staff working patterns and a recruitment freeze, as well as voluntary redundancies. "However, I’ve been involved here for more than three decades, and I know how dedicated and passionate our volunteers and paid staff are. Mr Dunster has been an active volunteer at the SVR for more than 30 years, and recently retired from his role as Avanti West Coast's executive director of operations and safety.SVR chairman Mike Ball said: “The board is delighted that Gus has agreed to take on this responsibility.
