The Franchise will shine a light on the 'chaos' of superhero movie-making.
Emmy-winning showrunner Jon Brown wrote the pilot episode and serves as showrunner, while Sam Mendes directs.
"With a deft touch only he can bring, Sam has brilliantly captured the romance and the reality of filmmaking today," Amy Gravitt, head of HBO and Max comedy series, said in a statement. "Jon is superb at sending up worlds we think we already know. Together, with Armando [Iannucci], they have delivered a truly hilarious comedy ensemble. I can't wait to see more."
