A Logan man is facing criminal charges after police say he raped a woman while she slept.
Jose Antonio Torres-Medina, 44, was charged Monday in 1st District Court with rape, a first-degree felony, and was ordered to be held without bail.
The woman told police she confronted Torres-Medina, who allegedly said they'd had sex and she'd enjoyed it. The woman said she asked Torres-Medina how she could have enjoyed it if she was unconscious, but he responded only that she liked it. Torres-Medina told police that on the date in question, the woman wanted food at 4 a.m. He said she was getting drowsy and not driving properly on their way back from getting food, so they pulled over and he drove home. When they arrived, Torres-Medina said the woman wanted to have sex.
When asked what the woman was doing during sex, Torres-Medina said she was "just laying there" and was unable to fully dress herself afterward, the affidavit says.
