Lorain City Schools said Thursday there is a police investigation happening near three of their school buildings.
The district said Lorain police’s investigation was prompted by incidents near Washington Elementary School, Hawthorne Elementary School, and Gen. Johnnie Wilson Middle School.
Lorain police officers on scene confirmed a lockdown has been lifted. A parent on scene told 19 News around 4:55 p.m. students are now being dismissed.“We are working to keep students and staff safe, which could mean keeping everyone sheltered in our buildings out of an abundance of caution.
