Fulfilling dream, local chef becomes partner at iconic St. Aug eatery
When David Moyer was a teenager working the lowliest jobs in a restaurant, he often thought of a day when he might be an owner himself.
Moyer has experience as executive chef, head chef and sous chef at local restaurants like Beaches at Vilano, Cap's on the Water, The Lazy Sands, The Reef and Caddy Shack. with partner Kendra Turley. His intention was to keep everything about the 39-year-old restaurant that made it special while also making improvements and adding new elements.
"I know it sounds like the typical drama story but starting at the bottom and working your way to the top ... meeting Frank pretty much changed my life, so much for the better," Moyer said. It's also been exciting for Moyer to be part of an established independent eatery where he has a classic menu but one he can add to.
