A local cancer charity are spreading a little festive cheer to people spending Christmas Day in hospital by delivering gifts.

Recognising this time of year can also be particularly difficult for teenagers and young adults with cancer, with many feeling unwell as a result of their treatment and unable to socialise with family and friends, the charity has extended its gift giving tradition to ensure that these young people have a special Christmas.

"We are also delighted to be working with the teams at the other cancer units at Antrim Area Hospital, Craigavon Area Hospital, the North West Cancer Centre and the Ulster Hospital to ensure that young patients who are being treated outside of Belfast also get a little something from Friends of the Cancer Centre. In total the charity will give a gift to 170 people across Northern Ireland this Christmas, letting each of them know that we are thinking of them and their families.

Friends of the Cancer Centre relies on the generosity of the local community and all money donated stays in Northern Ireland, directly benefitting patients and their families.
