The Reds suffered their first WSL defeat of the season last weekend but Beard is confident his side can return to winning ways against West Ham
Liverpool boss Matt Beard believes the Reds are in a "completely different place" to last season despite last weekend's narrow defeat to Everton in the Women's Super League .
"It’s not just about what we’ve done in pre-season and the players we’ve brought in. We’ve worked incredibly hard to make ourselves difficult to beat. It’s frustrating we lost to Everton but sometimes we can learn from that. We’re in a completely different place to where we were a year ago. Liverpool will have the chance to get back to winning ways when they travel to the Chigwell Construction Stadium to take on West Ham on Sunday afternoon. While the game comes to soon for the Reds' long-term absentees, Beard was able to provide a positive injury update on three of his sidelined stars.
This weekend will offer Beard the chance to return to his former club, with the Liverpool boss having coached West Ham between 2018 and 2020. The Hammers have looked much-improved since new manager Rehanne Skinner replaced former Liverpool defender Paul Konchesky over the summer.
