BREAKING: Traffic STOPPED on M62 with three-mile queues following crash - latest updates
near Manchester following a crash. National Highways says there are queues of more than three miles following the incident between junctions 12 at Eccles and 11 at Birchwood on the westbound carriageway.
All traffic has been stopped following the collision. An image from the scene appears to show at least two vehicles involved in a collision, with firefighters in attendance. A spokesperson for National Highways said: "The M62 westbound between J12 and J11 , traffic has been temporarily STOPPED due to a collision. There is currently approx. 3.5 miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 20 minutes above usual journey times."Further details about the nature of the incident are yet to be confirmed. Emergency services have been approached for comment.
