A stretch of the road has been shut off this morning
Chapel Street is currently closed both ways, according to traffic alert service Inrix. It shut between Brewery Lane and Clifford Street.
Some bus services are also being diverted away from the area. A tweet posted by Stagecoach said: "Routes 9/34. An RTC on Chapel Street in Leigh has closed the road in both directions.TheFollow our live blog below for the latest updates.
