The scene has been described as 'total chaos'
Data traffic site Inrix reports the A643 Elland Road in Beeston, Leeds, is partially blocked due to a multiple vehicle crash on the A6110 ring road in Beeston. The road was initially closed but is reportedly now open but blocked.
A cordon has been in place since 2.40pm today . The A6110 is also partially blocked in the southbound direction. There are diversions for bus services 51 and 52.A spokesperson for First Bus West Yorkshire said: "Service update - 51/52. Due to a road traffic collision at Elland Road, these services will divert via Churwell Hill, White Rose, Beeston, Tommy Wass Pub, Old Lane, Town Street, Wesley Street, Dewsbury Road & Millshaw Roundabout. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
A Yorkshire Buses spokesperson said: "Due to a serious RTA at the junction of Elland Road the ring road is currently closed towards The White Rose , bus will divert via Beeston and Millshaws back to line of route but please expect delays." One witness added: "Heads up for anyone heading out of Leeds. Due to this, traffic has been backed up to Armley gyratory, Whitehall Road, Geldard road . 45mins to get from city Square to Geldard road.
