Lisa Marie's son Benjamin tragically took his own life aged just 27
Lisa Marie Presley "never recovered" from the death of her son, grieving the tragic loss right up until her sudden death this week. In 2020, Presley's son Benjamin tragically took his own life just 27 years old.
In a post to mark National Grief Awareness Day in August, Lisa Marie wrote on Instagram: “Since I have been living in the horrific reality of its unrelenting grip since my son’s death two years ago, I thought I would share a few things to be aware of in regard to grief. In her book Destined to Die Young, writer Sally Hoedel claimed Elvis had a heart defect that had also led his mother Gladys and her siblings to die young. Elvis’s mother died at 46. Hoedel argued that because Elvis’ maternal grandparents had been first cousins, it had led to health issues in the family. She wrote: “It was that union some 30-something years before Elvis’ birth that dictated his short life.
