'Inside I'm screaming' - Linda Nolan makes heartbreaking admission as incurable cancer spreads to brain
Linda Nolan has spoken about the devastation of losing her hair for a fourth time in her ongoing battle with cancer. It comes as she undergoes chemotherapy again after her incurable cancer spread to her brain.
"When we got back I was emotional. My sister Maureen said ‘Are you alright?’ and I couldn’t speak, then I said ‘Not really’. She came and sat beside me and put her arm around me. Linda, 64, was first diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2005. It returned as incurable secondary breast cancer in her hip in 2017 and spread to her liver in 2020, before doctors found two sizable tumours surrounded by smaller ones in her brain, this spring.
She is now joining the Daily Mirror as a columnist to write about her latest, and last, cancer journey. She said she dislikes the word "journey" and promises to try hard not to use it. It is hoped this will slow the tumours’ progression but their presence is being felt. It was falls due to balance loss that led to the tumours in the brain being discovered. Linda now uses a wheelchair or stick and cannot walk without aid.
The latter usually manifests in struggling to recall a word. She is unsure if this is a side effect of the chemotherapy or the tumours.
