Residents have shared their concerns about a Nottinghamshire bypass
. Epperstone Bypass is a busy road near Lowdham that villagers claim has become known for accidents, flooding and vehicles being driven too fast.
"Yes there is crossings but the number of accidents we have just here is phenomenal. It is too fast, it doesn't need to be a 50, a 30 would be better and that junction is extremely dangerous."Jim added: "I've had two or three friends that have had accidents around here and they are locals that know the road. The problem isn't just the bypass it's Gunthorpe Bridge, as that's another accident blackspot.
Administrator Jo Smith, 59, who has lived in Lowdham for a number of years, said she is also concerned about the road. She said: "The drivers pay no attention to the speed limit, they go through at what they want and that's happening more and more. It's worse around peak times but there is a lot of traffic and more than there used to be throughout the day, and at weekends it's bad.
Jo explained that "when they opened that new road it was supposed to take the traffic off. They come down here from Mapperley and go off to the A46 and the A1."
