Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Janet Protasiewicz raised nearly $12.4 million to former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Daniel Kelly's $2.2 million in the final campaign finance reporting between Feb. 7 and March 20, according to the latest disclosure forms filed Monday night.In all, Protasiewicz has raised $14.5 million, with more than $8.8 million coming from the state Democratic Party. The Wisconsin Supreme Court contest has become the costliest high court election in U.S. history, with more than $30 million pouring into the up-for-grabs seat on the Supreme Court. Kelly and Protasiewicz are running to replace Justice Patience Roggensack, a conservative whose term expires in July. While the election is nonpartisan, the court has a 4-3 conservative majority.The April 4 election will likely determine the ideological makeup of the court as it takes on hot-button matters such as abortion, gerrymandering, and election laws.
