One Direction's Liam Payne confuses GMB viewers with his accent on the show
Payne didn't appear to address his new accent during the interview, but did offer further insight when it came to his views about the unexpected Oscars' incident, saying he felt"there were three losers in one fight"., which he gave after his brawl with Rock. While on stage, Smith apologised to the Academy for his behaviour.
"It was a powerful moment for me to sit and watch one of the world’s best emoters we’ve ever seen speak from the heart and I would rather take the beauty out of the situation than take the pain," Payne said. The singer then said he couldn't comment on the fight, adding that he had met Rock when he was touring with One Direction, recalling he was"lovely".
"I met Chris when I was younger and it was a very illusional time, I was a teenager who had just seen him at Madison Square Garden, it’s very strange. And I sat with him and spoke for 20, 30 minutes and he was lovely," he said.
