Leyland major incident live updates as 'armed police seen all over the place'
Emergency services are responding to reports of a 'major incident' in Leyland with one man arrested.
A huge cordon is in place this morning around the Broadfield Drive area of the town. Reports on social media say the Civic Centre council offices on West Paddock are closed while the job centre has also been evacuated. Witnesses report seeing 'armed police all over the place' and 'lots of sirens'. In a statement sent to LancsLive, MP Katherine Fletcher said: "I am being kept updated by Lancashire Police about a major incident in the centre of Leyland this morning. There is a large cordon around the Broadfield Drive area of the town that extends into the civic centre. "A man has been arrested following the execution of a search warrant at an address. This is an excellent example of our police working proactively to protect our communities.This is a live blog.
