The transformational projects across the UK will include Eden Project North visitor attraction in Morecambe and a new AI campus in Blackpool
The government has announced that more than 100 projects will be awarded a share of £2.1 billion from the second round of its Levelling Up Fund.
In total, 111 areas have been awarded the funding. The government confirmed that there will be another round of the Levelling Up Fund to give opportunities for more areas of the country."Through greater investment in local areas, we can grow the economy, create good jobs and spread opportunity everywhere," said Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. "That’s why we are backing more than 100 projects with new transformational funding to level up local communities across the United Kingdom.
Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove said: “We are firing the starting gun on more than a hundred transformational projects in every corner of the UK that will revitalise communities that have historically been overlooked but are bursting with potential.
