It caused an awful lot of damage
Two drivers caused damage at a Nottinghamshire train station after they drove through a railway barrier at a level crossing. On Monday, February 20, the barriers were damaged after two vehicles went through the barrier at the level crossing.
Newark Police have since reminded drivers in the area to watch their speeds at level crossings, just as they should do near any junction. Following the incident, workers from Network Rail East Midlands spent several hours at the scene assisting with a road closure to ensure safe access for both road and rail users in the area.
Enquiries are now ongoing to identify the persons involved in the incident. If you have any information or dash camera footage in relation to what happened, you can call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40.
