We know what the problems are. We must change our democracy so that everyone eligible is encouraged to vote. Then all high school graduates must be registered and vote. Although not necessarily unexpected, Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to take such a harsh stand against Palestinians is deeply disappointing, and I hope that the U.S. and other nations will speak out and act against such harsh policies. Several years ago at the funeral of a prominent lawyer’s young daughter, I happened upon Judge Clay Jenkins. I was surprised at his presence, yet he was calm, composed and did not strive for attention or court publicity. Although we did not speak to one another, I believe he was there in friendship, care and compassion over a common human condition — physical death.
