Re: “After-school programs still facing staffing problems — Waiting lists grow as parents struggle with returning to work,” March 20 news story.
The report also highlights the stresses facing working families, participation in programs and COVID-19’s impact on capacity. The report found that 62% of providers, compared to 51% nationally, are finding it difficult to hire and retain staff. To address staffing concerns, providers have implemented new approaches like increasing salaries and offering more professional development . After-school programs are a lifeline to working families and are crucial to the post-pandemic recovery.
But for every dealer who gets picked up, there is another one to take their place, and young people are dying every day. How do we stop China from producing the raw fentanyl material and smuggling it into other countries to mass produce these counterfeit pills, which are then coming into the United States? We must find a way to attack this hydra-headed problem before one more child dies.
Again, in 2014, the Russian invasion of Crimea went uncontested. It’s no wonder that an emboldened Vladimir Putin has made this horrific invasion of Ukraine. People like Putin cannot be given any leeway, or they will step all over whoever stands in their way.A couple of recent headlines have again shown us that the personal lives of wealthy celebrities in the world of sports truly are different.
