I hope we can correct a small issue. Recent opinions about the gondola used maps of Little Cottonwood Canyon that show a place they have labeled “quarry power plant ruin.” Wrong-O. It is the Columbus Consolidated Power Plant ruin. I refer y’all to Charles Keller’s book, “The Lady in the Ore Bucket,” figure 35.
And … I am also recommending that book to former Salt Lake City mayor, Ralph Becker, who recently proposed the railroad option vs gondola for Little Cottonwood Canyon transportation. We should hike that old railroad sometime, Ralph.
