FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks North Star Borough School Board scheduled a special meeting for 5:30 p.m. on March 28.surrounding School Board President Brandy Harty, who made disparaging comments toward certain state legislators at a public meeting on March 19.
Both Myers and Cronk denied the rumors, adding they had not been pressured by Dunleavy’s office to vote a certain way on the veto override. Neither McCabe’s nor Shower’s districts overlap with the boundaries of the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Harty issued a written apology for her statements on Wednesday, March 27, saying she “unintentionally misspoke.”
