The youngster has starred for the Rhinos' academy side.
Salford Red Devils have secured a deal for young Leeds Rhinos halfback Kai Morgan, Rugby League Live understands. The Reds have moved to sign the talented teenager, who is off-contract at the end of the season.
Morgan, 18, came through the system at Siddal, one of the best amateur clubs in the game. He made his Academy debut for the Rhinos in 2018 and has been a regular in the grades below first-team ever since. He was the club's starting halfback in the Academy's Grand Final victory over St Helens at the end of last year.
Morgan has featured for the Rhinos first-team in pre-season outings, scoring in victory over Bradford Bulls in 2022 and again against Hunslet earlier this year. He had a short-term loan at hometown club Halifax Panthers earlier this year too. But now a new challenge awaits him at Salford next year. He will link up with Paul Rowley's 2024 squad, which appears likely to have a familiar feel to it next year. The Reds have most of their senior players contracted and they are only thought to have signed Hull KR's Ethan Ryan externally at this point. They are, however, expected to secure further additions before the start of the campaign. As for Leeds, they have the likes of Alfie Edgell and Jack Sinfield in their ranks as young spine players looking to make their mark.
