Kyle Simpkins has narrowly avoided a prison sentence
Kyle Simpkins, 46, was spotted by officers on patrol in the Harehills area on November 2, 2021 driving the BMW 420 that belonged to his girlfriend, Greater Manchester Police officer Jessica Verbruggen.
Ms Bucklow said a GPS tracker led police to the car on Scott Hill Walk. A number of Simpkins' phones were found inside. She added: "He was interviewed twice and denied having ever taking the vehicle. He thought he was only being arrested because of his relationship with the accused and he said he not driven the car because he was disqualified at the time and always got a friend to drive.
She also tried to dodge speeding points and named her brother as the driver when sent a notice of intended prosecution. He said: "He has a 16-year-old daughter. That process of bonding started recently and he sees her on a daily basis and hopes to continue that."
