It also named a John Doe owner/operator of event planner Pressure Entertainment, a man identified as the event DJ and another man identified as a patron who filmed and shared the video online.
“They have a great deal to deal with, the disappointment, coming on top of the grief that they’re already dealing with. This is just a very, very great disappointment to them,” he said.The stay effectively means the onus of proof in the civil suit is on the plaintiffs; had Theriault-Fisher been convicted criminally, she “would not have had a defence to the civil lawsuit,” Stooshinoff said, noting the standard of proof in a criminal case is higher than in a civil matter.
