The legislation is one of the top priorities of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and was introduced as HR 5 to commemorate the age of students when they begin kindergarten. The Parents Bill of Rights passed the House on Friday in a 213-208 vote, with no Democrat supporting the legislation. It faces long odds of becoming law with Democrats in control of the Senate and White House.
