BREAKING: The government website now appears to have also run out of PCR tests in England.
Lateral flow tests are again unavailable to order for the second day in a row despite being needed if people are to comply with new rules.
Earlier this morning the Government’s website said the lab-analysed tests, meant for people who develop Covid-19 symptoms, were not available anywhere in England. However in some areas there are still none or very few available, including Suffolk, Bristol and Hertfordshire. From Tuesday anyone who has been in contact with someone with Omicron is being told to take a test every day for a week instead of self isolating.
On Monday, the UK Health Security Agency said that ‘due to exceptionally high demand, ordering lateral flow tests on gov.uk has been temporarily suspended to fulfil existing orders’.
