Way back in 2013, Paul Finebaum called now-Ole Miss Coach Lane Kiffin — then the coach at USC — the “Miley Cyrus of college football.” Lane Kiffin remembered.
Like a cheetah, stalking his prey, the Ole Miss coach patiently waited for his chance.“Trying to turn everyone on you,” Kiffin joked with the SEC Network analyst on “The Paul Finebaum Show.”Back in 2013, Finebaum called Kiffin - the USC coach at the time - the “Miley Cyrus of college football.” Kiffin was famously fired on the tarmac mid-season not long after.
This week, however, Finebaum has been vocal about the direction - and immediate future of the Alabama football program - so Kiffin revealed Friday he sent a story aboutKiffin for coining “Goat Fuel” and asked if he heard from Nick Saban about the flattering new term he coined. That’s when Kiffin - a former offensive coordinator at Alabama under Saban - revealed his plan.
“He would not be communicating the week of a game with any coach,” Kiffin said. “That’s to be expected. “The good thing with coach is you know what to expect. There aren’t going to be a lot of curveballs with him. I was not thinking when
