Some beautiful walks to inspire you
Evidence of spring is popping up all around us., daffodils ad snowdrops are blooming, blossoms are appearing on trees and days are longer.
It has a circular viewing platform on the way up as well as the parapet walk at the top and sits at the top of Darwen Hill around 372 metres above sea level. Fairy Glen This location is brilliant all-year round, and even in the rain if we happen to get a downpour over Mother's Day weekend. There's everything from a waterfall trail, woodland and hilltop views. The nature reserve is a magical place and youngsters will enjoy exploring the woodland areas. It straddles West Lancashire, Central Lancashire and Greater Manchester and you can also take in a short stretch along the Liverpool-Leeds canal to Parbold village.
Gisburn Forest is also ideal for anyone looking for a walk in the wilderness, but that is also easily accessible and the Stocks Reservoir circular route is also an option and you can find a map of the trails, here offering fantastic views wherever you look. However, please be careful as the paths could get uneven and slippy underfoot and there is also limited car parking in the village.
