The force claims his actions amount to gross misconduct
PC Harling, whose badge number is 2525, will be hauled before an accelerated misconduct hearing on Thursday to answer allegation he was involved in a domestic assault incident. The alleged incident occurred while the officer was off duty.
The hearing will take place at Ormskirk Police Station where the force's legal representatives will argue the officer's actions amount to gross misconduct. If this is found proven by the hearing's chair, Chief Constable Chris Rowley, the officer will face punishment ranging up to immediate dismissal.
"Police Constable 2525 Harling is alleged to have been involved in a domestic assault incident whilst off duty. The matters aforesaid amount to gross misconduct and to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour of Authority, Respect and Courtesy and Discreditable Conduct."
